Kate Lombardo, LMHC

Kate graduated in 2016 from Palm Beach Atlantic University with her Master’s in Counselor Education with an emphasis in mental health counseling. She has worked with those from many walks of life and is passionate about providing a safe environment for every person to share their pain. “That space is sacred and I consider it a privilege to be trusted with it.” Kate is a Christian and believes in loving and treating others, including her patients, as God would. She sees patients from all backgrounds, belief systems, and orientations and believes we all have the power to choose how we want to live. She is a certified trauma therapist and an Accelerated Resolution Therapist (ART), with a speciality in treating trauma. She believes that we were created to be in relationship with others and that our story has impacted how we do that. Her work with patients is focused on integrating all parts of your story, good, bad and ugly so that not only you will find wholeness, but to empower you to use your story to grow and transform into who you long to be and were created to be. She is trained in DBT-informed therapy, which is profoundly effective in treating borderline personality disorder, those who have ongoing emotion dysregulation, and/or anyone who grew up in invalidating environments. Kate completed a Clinician Awareness Training provided by the Florida Firefighter Health and Safety Collaborative and spends a lot of time specializing and working with first responders. Making sure the mental and emotional well beings of these individuals are intact ensures they are able to find meaning in their families and in their vocations. Finally, as a mom of a child with Type 1 Diabetes, she offers a unique counseling perspective to individuals and families as they work on navigating the ever-changing terrain of Type 1. At home, Kate is a wife and a mom of a seven and five year old who she adores. “I live a simple life with my family where I place a large emphasis on being present and doing my own mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical work so I can be fully present with my patients.”
